results are in from the 2007 Illinois wine competitions.
Galena Cellars had another Award winning year.
In fact, Illinois
Country Living magazine wrote “Galena Cellars Winery in Galena
has been formally recognized as producing some of the best wine in
the world.”
Galena Cellars took home the Best of
Show award for their locally grown and produced Traminette, which
also won gold for Best of Class!
Galena Cellars also took home 6 Silver and 10 Bronze Medals
as listed below.
The Illinois Wine Competition is for Illinois wineries and
this year judged over 320 wines.
According to
winemaker Christine Lawlor, “It was a great year for our winery!
We are pleased to be recognized for our fine quality and
award winning wines produced in Jo Daviess County in Northwest
Illinois.”
